Home made Solar Tracker using Arduino uno R3This is a dream of every student to make something new and interesting so today i am going to teach you that how to make arduino based solar tracker. Every one knows that solar panel output voltage level depends upon on sun light efficiency if more light photons striking on solar panel it will produce more voltage with full efficiency but we don't know if we fixed and install the solar panel in some
constant position then for some time it will receive strong light but due to change in time sun changing their position and the solar panel not receiving enough light because due to mismatch of their line of sight between sun and solar panel .
Here we used Arduino uno R3 to make it possible to track the movement of sun and get the full efficiency from our solar panels.

Componenets Required :
* 4 Resistor,s of 100k
* 4 LDR ( Light dependent resistor )
* Arduino uno R3
* 2 servo motors
* small solar panel
* jumper wire
* card board and metal strip

Take card board and make a smalls holes around the solar panel at the size of LDR then place the Ldr,s in that holes properly by applying some glue.

Solder the all LDR with 100k ohm resistors as per the schematic diagram do this step correctly and slowly when you you complete this step then you need to connect all the three output wire coming out from this to Arduino uno R3 as per the schematic diagram.

Then the last and final step is to do some mechanical engineering let,s joint the two servo motor with metal strip properly as shown in the picture and enjoy the solar tracker project ...thanks

  1. Hello. Great project. I'm also planning on making a solar tracker, but I it will be with stepper motors that i allready have. I saw another similar project where 2 potentiometers where used to calibrate. Not to change de voltage of the ldr's but simply to read them via analog-in and use the values to calculate the offset in the sketch.
